I also wish to present a paper on “Reconciliation:Saying Sorry to the Indigenous population of Australia for past injustices ” On 13 February the Australian Parliament opens with an apology to the Aboriginal citizens of Australia. This is in contrast to the previous government which refused to “say sorry”, instituted the concept of Practical Reconciliation and most recently instituted an “emergency intervention” into remote Aboriginal communities to counter alcoholism, drug and child abuse. Issues to be covered include an analysis of the rhetorics used and overarching issues of racism,colonialism , subjugation,the politicalisation of reconciliation and the contemporary socio-cultural shift in cultural mores culminating in the current apology and its aftermath

I have delayed submitting this until the date of the Apology was known!. Please treat this as the submission of an abstract , contact me if a different form is required and inform me of acceptance. Also please email a registration form or instruct me where to find one!!
